    Country Exploration Manager – Precious & Base Metals – Mongolia

     

    Join an emerging gold p roducer within Mongolia and lead their exploration team in country.  This position will see you have responsibility for the direction of ongoing projects as well as leading the identification and development of new precious and base metal targets of the company’s geology division.

     

    This position will see you report directly to the company Geology Director and Operations Director and you will be provided with significant autonomy to develop exploration targets and programmes alongside the expansion of the exploration team.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Manage the safe, efficient and cost effective execution of all exploration activities in Mongolia.
    • Design and oversee drill programmes of all kinds.
    • Lead the development of the Mongolian project base through the analysis and interpretation of geophysical, geochemical and geological data sets.
    • Ensure the accuracy, organisation and completeness of the company database.
    • Development of new business and project generation activities within Mongolia.
    • Provide training and mentoring for Mongolian geologists and improve the capacity of local drilling and geophysical contractors.

     

    Requirements:

     

    • Minimum of 12 years post graduate experience in exploration for Gold and Copper targets.
    • Previous experience in Mongolia (or similar environments) is highly desirable.
    • Extensive experience in a variety of geological and GIS software as well as resource modelling software is essential.
    • Proven experience in the development and training of local exploration and geological teams of up to 15-20 people.
    • Demonstrable experience in the interpretation of geophysical data (magnetics, electromagnetics, IP and gravity) and geochemical surveys.
    • Familiarity with a variety of laboratory methods and drilling techniques.

     

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a privately held, extremely well funded, company at an early stage of development.  With an initial project heading into production they are looking to add to their resource base through consolidation and grassroots exploration. 

    This position will be offered on either a residential (preferable) or FIFO (6/3) basis and the basic salary will be above average and negotiable dependent of years of experience.  If based in country you will receive accommodation and transportation along with annual return airfares to point of origin to suit status.
